Scenario

-->
Scenario #1:
You are hired as the new k-12 art teaching team in a mid-sized school district in Iowa which is located about 20 minute from a larger urban city and contains a small private college. At the beginning of the year faculty meeting the principal announces to the entire staff that the school will be focusing on a social justice theme this year with your students.
The theme for your school relates to hunger and homelessness in your community.  Your principal describes to you the needs of the community are not being currently met and there are many individuals and families currently living with basic needs like food and shelter and even clothing.
Currently to help the homeless and hungry:
 The community has 1 shelter in town and it is at full capacity and a small food bank at the edge of town. There are two consignment shops for inexpensive clothing, and the library has free Internet from 10-8pm for all residents.   In order to satisfy your curriculum coordinator at your school, you must find ways that these projects connect to your standards. You may use the National Art Standards and/or 21st Century Skills to make these connections clear.
