Your lessons are here.
If
you have never used VoiceThread before, please explore the website. http://voicethread.com/
If you are new to VoiceThread
your password is miller and your UNI email will get you in. If you already had
an account, then you will need to remember your password or reset it.
When you are ready to create your VoiceThread,
read this over:
http://voicethread.com/media/custom/site/docs/CreatingaVoiceThread.pdf
http://voicethread.com/media/custom/site/docs/CreatingaVoiceThread.pdf
Once the VoiceThread is put together,
(I will get a list of all students who created work for your lesson) you will
then email the VoiceThread to Chelsie chelsie.meyer@wsr.k12.ia.us
Here are directions on how to share: http://voicethread.com/media/misc/sharing_voicethreads.pdf
Students will record their
answers/reflections/artist statements (whatever you have designed) on the
VoiceThread and then it will be sent back to the UNI group leader. You will
share it with your group mates. You will respond to the students' work
giving them feedback, as if it was a critique in class. This is a virtual
critique. Here is help on how to comment and view:

Things
to remember for the critique:
Middle school students can be very
insecure. Make sure your comments are positive and helpful. It is ok to give
constructive feedback but make sure it is not seen as negative. Please focus on
their strength areas, places they excelled and when they took risks and were
very creative. You can draw right on the slide with your finger on your
iPad to highlight areas that you are discussing in particular. When you
record your voice, it will play back and ask you if you want to save it.
You can record several times, until you feel comfortable saving it. Be
thoughtful and personal. Every student should have feedback ( in groups
of three, they should have 2 comments).
Assessment:
Group leaders have been sent a Google
doc from Chelsie titled "iPad lesson Grades" As a group, you
will decide the standards that you were working to meet with the students based
on the 6 National Art Standards.
Here
are the standards:
http://artsedge.kennedy-center.org/educators/standards/full-text/5-8-standards.aspx#Visual%20Arts
http://artsedge.kennedy-center.org/educators/standards/full-text/5-8-standards.aspx#Visual%20Arts
You
will give the student a number on the spreadsheet as a group.
1=
does not demonstrate meeting the standard
2=working
towards meeting the standard ( demonstrates through some strength areas ,
but other areas need improvement)
3=
demonstrates that the student clearly meets the standard.
I
am so excited to see the work created from your lessons!
