Even though we are teaching at a suburban school (rather than an urban school), Delpit reminds us not to sell anyone short, that every student should be challenged and given opportunities to succeed. 

Please share an example from our current field experience where you held high expectations, challenged (supported) students to help them to try achieve their goal? Discuss the situation (with confidentiality) and share the results from your experience. What did you take from Delpit and Branham to help your struggling students?
