Blog 2- The importance of care and empathy in school

The articles this week are focused on Nel Noddings care ethics and the importance of infusing these attributes into the curriculum. The goal is not to impose your values onto students but to instead find themes to engage them in conversation around "big ideas" to promote care for one another and to encourage expression in a safe place- the art room! 

Reflect on your new learning from articles and ways you can show care and empathy for students while also engaging and guiding them in their artistic practices to complete this mural (reflective of the students/school). Please post examples from the readings (strategies to implement when we begin working with students this week)

The students were encourage to share their visions of what a healthy community could look like. I want to encourage our students to do the same about their school community!
