Hello everyone! Natalie has read ahead and planned some great questions for you to help connect you to what we have been reading with Maxine Greene, Paulo Freire, and Rachel Branham.  We are going to be discussing comics as a way of connecting personal stories, social justice, contemporary art, and literacy to our art curriculum.

1.) Discuss some reasons that storytelling and narrative are an important component in the art classroom.

2.) Often art teachers find teaching about contemporary art difficult to connect with k-12 students. How could comics become a way to bridge that contemporary art world to your students?

3.) What connections do you find between the visual literacy of comics and our collaborative wall project at the House of Hope. How can this project also connect to personal stories, social justice, contemporary art, and literacy to our art curriculum.?
